Screening & Discussion with Visiting Filmmaker Kyle Salazar 10.3.17

On Tuesday, October 3rd STS will sponsor a screening and discussion of visiting filmmaker Kyle Salazar's award winning documentary "The Vervet Forest".   This documentary tells the story of five orphaned Vervet monkeys in South Africa.  It explores the causes of animal habitat destruction, the role of humans in a struggling ecosystem, and how understanding the connection between ourselves and our environment can inspire positive change.  

Director Kyle Salazar is at once an ethnographic filmmaker and a poet.  He combines the storytelling techniques of Hollywood cinema with the run and gun mindset of a traveler assimilating into foreign cultures.
